About Dr. Laura Kelly
Online & In-person therapy in New York
Hey there, inquisitive being
I'm Laura, a clinical psychologist and a fellow comrade on this human journey, proudly serving Queens, New York.
I'm a professional challenger of the status quo, it's part of my rebellious side. You may have a little of this in you too. You know what I'm talking about, the part of you who wonders if you can expand yourself and take up more room, and why the hell not? It battles with the part of you that longs for acceptance and connection and really doesn't want to push others away.
You may wonder, how much of my emotional disquiet comes from me and how much comes from others? You want to feel more confident and free to be you but you also don't want to be lonely AF.
Therapy that dives deep
I am a psychodynamic therapist. That means I dive deep and ask you to come with me. I love growing plants so please enjoy the metaphor.

In therapy, we explore these very old, very programmed ways you are thinking, feeling, and acting. We pull up the weeds and make room to plant new seeds. We don't yet know what kind of plant you'll be growing, but I assure you, with time and the necessary elements, you will grow new parts of yourself.

I'm really into supporting your humanness while finding ways for you to get more from your life.
"The bad news is you're falling through the air, nothing to hang on to, no parachute. The good news is, there's no ground."

What Would Happen If You Challenged Your Old Beliefs?
What New Possibilities Could You Create for Yourself?
Take a minute and really think about it. There are some limits and boundaries in life that we may not be able to change. But there are also so many that we think we have no power to alter, that we are convinced are just facts of our life, but can actually be related to or interacted with differently, and even shifted.
We have more power than we often know, and I love finding space to open up old ideas of yourself and the world around you and to deconstruct these ideas into new possibilities.

I believe we can find moments of joy, even as we navigate the challenges and pain that may arise. However...
